Chef and author Stella Parks graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2002. She has worked in many restaurant kitchens and lives to bake. Food & Wine magazine named her one of America's Best New Pastry Chefs and she received a James Beard Award nomination for her new cookbook. Stella is known for making every element of her desserts by hand, from the sprinkles on the cupcakes to the peanut butter cups stirred into banana ice cream. Presently she is a senior editor at Serious Eats.

Her cookbook and New York Times Best Seller BraveTart is a celebration of classic American desserts, from One-Bowl Devil’s Food Layer Cake to a flawless Cherry Pie. With vintage advertisements, breathtaking photography from Penny De Los Santos, and over a hundred recipes with 200+ variations, this book is very sweet!

Sit back, watch, learn and enjoy while Stella makes a few of her favorites before your very eyes. She’ll create red velvet cake layers and cream cheese buttercream, do some live cake decorating, and make chocolate sprinkles from scratch! Sounds like a party! We’ll end class enjoying a slice of cake together.
