Fancy Schmancy Holiday Cookies 2020

Fancy Schmancy Holiday Cookies

Our most popular class of the year!

Join us virtually to get into the holiday spirit and make three festive, fancy cookies, worthy of your family cookie plate. We will share a fourth recipe and demonstrate how to successfully make it. It is guaranteed fun and is known to inspire new family traditions!

This year is a little different, since you will be making the cookies in your own homes. We've decided to make three cookies in the class rather than four because while baking dozens of cookies in home kitchens is fun, let's be real, it's also quite a project. We want you to be successful and to keep your kitchens somewhat intact. We want to stick with our tradition of sharing four recipes though, so we're demonstrating a fourth cookie that has great flavor and is comparatively easy to make. The class will be four hours, as it has been in prior years.

This is a great class to do with family members or a friend or two. Many hands make for light work and good memories.

The 2020 cookie lineup features tried and true holiday treats that are familiar, comforting, and beloved.

Linzer Cookies

A festive, cinnamon and almond sandwich cookie featuring a dollop of raspberry jam that peeks out of a hole, or “eye,” in their top layer. They’re essentially a petite version of the famous and time-honored Austrian dessert, the Linzertorte.

Mint Spritz

Spritz cookies are one of the most recognizable and universally known Christmas cookies. These simple butter cookies can be made in many pretty shapes, patterns, and flavors making them super flexible and appealing to many, which probably explains why they became so popular.

Baci di Dama

Baci di Dama, “Lady Kisses” in Italian, are cute little hazelnut sandwich cookies filled with dark chocolate that are said to resemble a woman’s pursed lips about to bestow a sweet kiss.

Pfeffernüsse

Festive spice cookies, dusted in powdered sugar, Pfeffernüsse are traditionally made with an abundant blend of aromatic spices—they feature anise and black pepper, which give them a really distinctive flavor, as well as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
