Wondering what tasty, waste-free treat you can make with those overripe and/or abundant bananas sitting on your kitchen counter? Are you in a quandary as to what off-the-beaten-path pie to make for Pi Day or any other celebration? Ponder no further! In this hands-on class, we’re GOING BANANAS! as we teach you how to make our rich, flavorful, and waste-free Banana Bread as well as our delectable Banana Cream Pie!
For the Bakehouse’s Banana Cream Pie, we’ll teach you all the basics for creating a luscious filling of Vanilla-Bean Pastry Cream, sliced fresh bananas, and Vanilla-Bean Whipped Cream, all tucked into a scrumptious Sugar Cookie Crust. And for the Banana Bread, you’ll learn how to make it the Bakehouse way, using the whole banana, peel and all (no waste here!), and freshly milled whole grain flour for those added punches of flavor and nutrition that can’t be beat.
You’ll leave the BAKE! class with our recipes, the knowledge to recreate them at home, and the Banana Cream Pie and Banana Bread you made in class.
In-Person: We’ll end class with a tasting of all that we made and you’ll go home with some great coupons!
