A Seasonal Food Celebration with Abra Berens

Abra Berens Ruffage

It's time to start looking at our daily dose of vegetables with fresh eyes. Abra Berens is a chef, former farmer, writer, and Zingerman’s veteran. She believes that the meals we eat should be simple, delicious, and seasonal, and that their ingredients should come from nearby. Ruffage: A Practical Guide to Vegetables, her first cookbook, is chock-full of easy-to-follow, veg-forward recipes that will undoubtedly inspire you on your next trip to the produce department.

Join Abra in a colorful celebration of seasonal produce! The evening’s menu includes:

  • Sweet pea toasts
  • Marinated peas with carrots, ricotta, and chili oil
  • Pan roasted peas with lamb, fromage blanc, and mint

She’ll also whisk us away on an adventure in seasoning, where we’ll learn to make mayo and change its flavors with acid and salt.

You’re also invited to have your book signed by Abra after the event. Her book will be available for purchase at the event, or you can buy it here and bring it with you.

Think you want to enjoy Abra's food and wisdom for two nights? Attend A Veggie Forward Dinner with Abra Berens at Zingerman's Greyline on Friday, June 14!

Our classes (except for family classes & kids camps) are for adults 17 & up.
