Before people find out how good our cakes taste, they comment on how good they look. Decorating might be the most fun part of cake making and it’s your chance to really put your personal touch on your creation.
In this hands-on class, we'll teach you how to crumb and final coat your own 3-layer, 6-inch cake. Then we'll spend time practicing with different piping tips to make shells, rosettes, vines, leaves, and letters on your cake. Practice makes perfect, so you'll get plenty of that. Finally, you'll have time to let your creativity flow as you put all that practice to work by decorating your cake with our delicious Swiss buttercream.
You'll leave the BAKE! class with our recipes; the knowledge to make, ice, and decorate cakes at home; and the cake you decorated in class.
In-Person: We'll provide the baked cakes and swiss meringue buttercream. We'll end class with a tasting of what we made, the recipes for the cake and buttercream, and you'll go home with some great coupons.
Virtual (2-day): On Day 1, we'll make our buttermilk cake with Swiss buttercream icing and talk about different filling options. To make the cake and icing, you'll need a stand mixer with paddle and whip attachments or a hand-held mixer. On Day 2, we'll fill, crumb coat, ice, and decorate the cakes we made.
