What do the Brits Know About Pizza? Pizza Pilgrims Demo with Thom and James Elliot

Join us for a virtual demo with The Pizza Pilgrims, brothers Thom and James Elliot, who have spent years researching the best pizza that the world has to offer! They believe that making pizza using a frying pan (skillet) makes for the absolute best Neapolitan pizza you can make at home. Luckily for us pizza lovers, they’re going to teach us their method in this online, interactive class via Zoom! Feel free to cook along with them or just enjoy the demonstration. There will be a moderator fielding questions throughout the demonstration.

Thom and James Elliot ditched their jobs in 2012 to go on a life-changing pilgrimage to Naples, the home of pizza, to earn how it's done from the source. Back in the UK, they set up a market stall in Soho selling pizza from the back of their trusty Ape van. Pizza Pilgrims now run 16 pizzerias (and counting) in London and the southeast of the UK.

They’ve incorporated all of their pizza learnings into their forthcoming cookbook, Pizza: recipes, stories, history, places, people, love. If, like them, you can't imagine your world without dough, cheese, and tomato, then this is the book for you. All things pizza are here—from its history and family tree, to world-famous pizzerias and even an exploration into the pizza variants we love to hate (hamburger crust pizza anyone?). Alongside pizza maps of their favorite global pizza cities (so you can conduct your very own pizza pilgrimage) the book is also packed with over 30 recipes to make sure you finally delete your local takeaway from speed dial #1. From a NY slice, to true Neapolitan pizza made in a frying pan, Pizza offers classic and new creations, including guest chefs' signature takes, and the Pilgrims' very own Nutella pizza ring!
